Galium odoratum. Sweet Woodruff.

This little bedstraw is native to woodland in Europe, but can be grown as an ornamental and is naturalized in North America. It has an ancient, rather than modern, reputation in medicine, and is known as a “witch’s remedy.” In Germany it is called waldmeister, or “master of the woods,” presumably in reference to its occult powers. It has a sweet, aromatic scent that betrays the presence of coumarins, also found in other members of this family. In addition it contains flavonoids, anthraquinones, tannins, and iridoid alkaloids.
